on one hand; i'm progressing faster than ever, getting bigger than ever and loving the mountain biking and general outdoorsiness...

on the other handl; i miss good restaurants, good art, all my friends, happy hour at the laurelwood, cheap movies at the mission, culture, music, good espresso, and portland people...

Dean,
It's you from the future. Hey I remember going through the that period.... the Laurelwood is great. Anyways, don't worry about it, you will make the Olympic team and become a well paid professional bike racer like your best friend Aaron.... you will move back to Portland and build an indoor velodrome between Williams and Vancouver in N-Po. and move all your track friends from C-Springs to the culturally rich and much cooler place that is Portland. and if my calculations are correct, don't worry about breaking that glass tomorrow. Just don't try to hide it from Jenny, she got pretty mad at that.

take care buddy

Portland's not so great. The Couv is where it's at. Lots of art and stuff. You like those pretty Indian maidens? Or dogs playing poker?

Oh, well. Hug Jenny for me, cause I'm not good at that hugging thing, and have a calorie on me.

Just keep getting faster and bigger. I hear there's this Hoy guy from acroos the pond who's going pretty good these days. He's gonna need to be taken down a notch and you're gonna need some power to do it. That's just what I hear...

You got the whole rest of your life to sit in coffee shops on rainy days, but the serious cycling Rep thing has a relatively short lifespan- so you gotta make the most of the chance given!

if it helps, the laurelwood happy hour misses you too. It told me.
